The Dover Coalition for Youth is fortunate to be supported by community businesses and organizations. Their support is critical to the success of our programs and efforts to make a difference.
Drug Free Communities Support Program (http://www.whitehouse.gov/ondcp/drug-free-communities-support-program) – The Drug Free Communities Support Program (DFC) is a Federal grant program that provides funding to community-based coalitions that organize to prevent youth substance use. Dover is fortunate to participate in the DFC program which has a philosophy that local drug problems require local solutions. With a small Federal investment, the DFC program doubles the amount of funding through the DFC program’s match requirement, to address youth substance use.
A special thank you goes out to the Dover Police Department for their longstanding support of the Coalition. The Police Department helped form the Coalition in 1993 and has been our fiscal agent allowing us to obtain grants ever since.
The Dover School Department also deserves special recognition. Their participation has been there from the beginning and ever since. They collaborate on student behavior surveys, participate in planning events and they make Youth to Youth possible by providing facilities, helping with communications with students, and extensive overall support of the program including staff and financial support.
